Avventura Pilates was founded by Ariadne Los and was born from a love of travel, a passion for Pilates and being active, and a desire to combine these elements into retreats for you to enjoy. Our handpicked locations offer the perfect environment for you to relax, restore and rejuvenate. For the adventurous touch, we’ve added activities such as hiking, cycling, water sports and winter sports. Visits to cultural highlights will inspire you, and freshly prepared food, relaxation and fun will further nourish your body, mind and spirit.
Ariadne’s Pilates journey began in 2010 when she was preparing for a sailing trip around the world. Regular classes helped her get stronger and more flexible, build her core muscles and improve her balance for those long weeks on the rolling waves. It also relieved longstanding back and neck issues. Aware of the effectiveness and many benefits of Pilates, Ariadne followed her passion and became an instructor.

Ariadne has gained qualifications in Levels I&II Pilates Mat, Pilates Small Equipment, Pilates Barre and Myofascial Movement. She is also qualified in Swedish and Indian Head Massages, as well as in Ayurvedic Therapies.
Ariadne loves the outdoors and most water sports. She has traveled widely and speaks four languages fluently.

These words were spoken by Joseph Pilates in 1965, aged 86. Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. With systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns, Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavor, but also as an important addition to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds.
Practiced faithfully, Pilates has numerous benefits. Increased lung capacity and circulation through deep, healthy breathing is a primary focus. Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles, muscular and mental coordination, are key components in an effective Pilates programme. Posture, balance, and core strength are all increased. Bone density and joint health improve, and many experience positive body awareness for the first time. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into daily life.
